Petition AGAINST Homestead’s Zoning Change on Emerson

Remonstrance Petition against # 2026-MOD-001

We, the undersigned homeowners in McFarland Farms residential subdivision, located less than 500 feet from 7536 Emerson Avenue, hereby petition against and remonstrate against the Modification to the above noted case. This modification would remove the age restriction and allow for multifamily apartments, which was denied in 2022 due to the following reasons,
(1) drainage issues,
(2) permitted use document currently restricting this property which is filed with the city as of August 2023,
(3) stress on the Perry Township School System,
(4) traffic and safety concerns for McFarland Boulevard and surrounding streets,
(5) abandoned land which has not been taken care of since Homestead purchased the property 4-5 years ago.
